Truck Loading Gangway with Fall Protection and Loading Arm
Busy truck loading operations require consistent access to the top of tankers. SafeRack’s Truck Loading Gangway With Fall Protection provides workers a repeatable, reliable, and safe way to reach the tops of tanker trucks without relying on truck-mounted ladders or improvised methods. SafeRack can create top-loading solutions that improve efficiency while remaining within your budget.
In this project, SafeRack built a truck loading gangway using several components that integrated into the facility’s pre-existing infrastructure. The main parts we used include the G4 Series Self-Adjusting Stairway (SAS), a Fixed Reach Top Loading Arm, and a 4-Rail Safety Cage to provide a complete access system that provides consistent fall protection throughout operations. Our team engineered a platform that reduced strain on operators, minimized spill risk, negated hose failures, and addressed the specific concerns of the loading area.
Many truck loading zones across industries handle a fleet of mixed containers, tankers, and work demands. SafeRack’s SAS Truck Gangways have an 85-degree working range to accommodate different trucks, with widths ranging from 24 inches to 72 inches, or customized dimensions. SafeRack’s truck gangway can be track-mounted, allowing easy maneuverability along a platform. Safety cages can be designed for the range of top hatches a facility has. This flexibility reduces downtime and risk of falls to lower levels, an accident type responsible for 119,190 Days Away, Reduced, or Transferred (DART) injuries, and 84,880 Days Away From Work (DAFW) cases in fiscal year 2023-2024.
SafeRack truck loading platforms are built with durable aluminum or steel that withstands years of heavy use. Our equipment is suitable for various loading areas, whether your facility handles bulk chemicals, cement and frac sand, petroleum, LPG and LNGs, or any other caustic material. Walkways are non-slip and offer consistent footing through rain, snow, ice, and spills.
If your team is still climbing trucks with ladders or working around unprotected edges, it may be time to upgrade. Contact us today to speak with one of our truck loading safety specialists. We are a turnkey operation that provides free preliminary walkthroughs, custom designs and installations, and ongoing safety checks to ensure ongoing safety. SafeRack can improve your loading area while saving you time and money.
