Maintenance workers often encounter a broad range of obstacles when navigating rooftops to access equipment. For instance, pipes, ducts, and utility lines. But some configurations pose even greater challenges and safety risks.
This was the case for a recent SafeRack rooftop stair installation. The equipment located on the roof of this facility was surrounded by a large wall. While workers could reach the equipment by ladder, this was both inefficient and dangerous. The SafeRack team installed prefabricated aluminum rooftop crossover stairs. The OHSA-compliant
crossover stairs are slip-resistant and feature safety railings, making them an ideal solution for locations like rooftops that are exposed to the elements.
