SafeRack’s legacy Elevating Cage, installed at Eastman Chemical Company, offers adjustable pneumatic lift and easy-glide winch options for safe and compliant access to railcars and tank trucks under existing canopies in caustic environments.
SafeRack’s Legacy Elevating Cage has been installed at Eastman Chemical Company to facilitate safer and more efficient access to railcars and tank trucks for bulk loading operations. The
elevating cage system is equipped with options for both pneumatic lifts and easy-glide winches, designed to operate in areas with low clearance and can be retrofitted under existing canopies. It is constructed to withstand caustic and corrosive environments, using open beam supports suitable for facilities where closed member steel designs are not permissible.
The installation includes OSHA Compliant Handrail Safety Systems, providing fall protection that meets the requirements of General Industry (OSHA 1910), Maritime (OSHA 1915), and Construction (OSHA 1926). The handrails are designed to extend a foot above the typical railcar crash boxes, offering 42 inches of height for fall protection and are adjustable to cover the length of a tank truck or isotainer. This allows workers to access multiple hatches safely along the vehicle, ensuring compliance with safety regulations without hindering productivity.
SafeRack also has MaxRack, the lasted version of an Elevating Cage Loading System
Used for accessing the top of
vehicles for bulk loading or
accessing top hatches, the
MaxRack is a powered elevating safety cage and platform that creates a safe environment for workers to access these vehicles.
