SafeRack’s Legacy Elevating Cage, implemented at Eastman Chemical Company, provides pneumatic lift and easy-glide winch capabilities for secure and compliant entry to railcars and tank trucks beneath existing canopies in harsh environments.
SafeRack’s Legacy Elevating Cage has been implemented at Eastman Chemical Company to enhance safe and efficient access to railcars and tank trucks during bulk loading activities. The
elevating cage system features both pneumatic lifts and easy-glide winches, tailored to function in low clearance areas and adaptable for retrofitting under
existing canopies. Constructed to endure harsh, corrosive conditions, it utilizes open beam supports, making it compatible with facilities that prohibit closed member steel structures.
The setup includes OSHA Compliant Handrail Safety Systems that conform to the safety standards of General Industry (OSHA 1910), Maritime (OSHA 1915), and Construction (OSHA 1926). These handrails, designed to extend a foot above standard railcar crash boxes, provide 42 inches of height for fall protection and can be adjusted to span the length of a tank truck or isotainer. This flexibility ensures that workers can safely access various hatches along the vehicle, maintaining safety compliance without compromising operational efficiency.
