Railcar Manway Cover
T-Wrenches

Our Railcar Manway Cover T-Wrenches are engineered for efficient, safe, and reliable opening and closing of railcar dome lid nuts. Lightweight and easy to handle, these T-wrenches provide the right leverage to loosen or tighten manway cover bolts without stripping threads or damaging lid gaskets. This helps maintain the integrity of your railcar equipment and ensures a secure seal every time.

Each T-wrench features an exchangeable 1” square drive tube socket with a 4” clear internal depth, designed to fit all popular dome lid nut sizes. The sockets are tapered for a precise fit, and the maximum socket outer diameter is just 2-3/4”, making them ideal for use in tight spaces.

Tank Car Pry Bars

Our Tank Car Pry Bar is engineered for safe removal of tank car manway covers. Designed to engage the grab-handle on manway lids, this tool features a five-foot steel pipe handle and a rocking foot, giving operators the leverage needed to break the vacuum seal created by pressure differences inside and outside the tank car. This helps overcome suction without excessive force or risk to worker.

With the Tank Car Pry Bar, workers can stand upright during use, keeping a safe distance from the manway opening and minimizing exposure to escaping fumes when the lid releases. The ergonomic design reduces physical strain and supports compliance with facility safety protocol.

  • Five-foot handle allows operators to maintain a safe, upright position while working.
  • Rocking foot design maximizes leverage, making it easier to break stubborn seals.
  • Reduces risk of injury and exposure to hazardous vapors during manway cover removal.

Tank Car Measuring Stick

Aldon | Item #: 4123-151
Weight: 8 lbs

The SafeRack Tank Car Measuring Stick is a reliable tool for accurately measuring outage—the unfilled space inside a rail tank car. This measuring stick is designed to hook securely inside the manway hatch at the outage reference point. The user simply slides the 25-inch stainless steel and brass stick down until its tip touches the liquid surface, providing a direct reading of the remaining space.

Compatible with all tank car models that feature an internal measuring reference point in the manway, this tool offers a straightforward, manual solution for outage measurement. Its hanging design ensures quick deployment and easy use, helping operators maintain safe fill levels and comply with loading protocols.
