Loading Dock Levelers & Risers
SafeRack is Your Trusted Partner for Complete Loading Dock Safety Solutions
Essential Safety Equipment for Loading Docks
Loading dock operations present significant safety risks when height differences exist between trailers and dock floors. These gaps, curbs, and elevation changes create dangerous conditions for workers using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and foot traffic. Bluff Manufacturing’s dock plates, levelers, and wheel risers provide proven solutions that bridge these gaps safely and efficiently.
SafeRack distributes Bluff Manufacturing’s complete line of loading dock equipment as part of our full solutions service. These products eliminate unsafe loading conditions, reduce equipment damage, and improve operational efficiency while maintaining strict compliance with ANSI MH30.2 standards.
Dock LevelerS

Low Dock Leveler
Lo-Dock Leveler – Model LD
Raise Low Docks Safely Without Expensive Modifications
The Bluff Lo-Dock Leveler is an innovative edge-of-dock solution mounted to a ramp that effectively raises dock height from 3″ to 20″. This eliminates dangerous low dock loading situations without requiring costly structural alterations to your facility.
No-Weld Installation
The Model LD is easily installed onto any concrete dock, and no welding is required. The patented design includes door seals that allow overhead doors to sit flush on top of the ramp, maintaining proper building seal integrity.
Key Features & Benefits
- Effortless Operation: Mechanical spring operation reduces lifting effort
- Forklift Compatibility:
- 5″ above/below dock range with propane forklifts
- 3″ above/below dock range with electric forklifts or pallet jacks
- Complete System: Includes molded bumpers and self-storing handle
- Precision Positioning: Patented design ensures correct positioning every time
- Significant Height Adjustment: Raises dock height from 3″ to 20″
- No Modifications Required: Installs without welding or dock alterations
- Heavy-Duty Capacity: 20,000 to 30,000 lbs capacity options

Edge of Dock Leveler
Model EP (EZ Pull)
The Perfect Solution for Existing Docks Without Pit-Mounted Levelers
When your original building design didn’t include pit-mounted levelers, Bluff’s Edge of Dock Leveler (Model EP) provides an easy retrofit solution for safe dock loading operations. Designed for fork truck traffic ranging from 5″ below to 5″ above dock level, this leveler accommodates most loading applications without expensive dock modifications.
How It Works
The EP leveler is positioned by lifting and pulling the handle to the dock floor. The latch assembly automatically activates the lip, projecting it forward onto the trailer bed as the handle is lifted. When released, the handle returns to its stored position automatically.

Wheel Risers
Wheel risers provide safe, efficient truck and semi-trailer positioning at loading docks by elevating vehicles to proper height alignment. These positioning systems eliminate dangerous below-dock loading conditions while reducing equipment damage and improving freight handling efficiency.
Available in both portable and permanent configurations, wheel risers are manufactured in steel and aluminum construction with multiple size options for length, width, and load requirements. Standard capacity starts at 40,000 lbs to accommodate heavy-duty commercial vehicle operations.

Wheel Risers
Site-Specific Truck Positioning
SafeRack supplies aluminum and steel wheel risers that raise truck or trailer axles to dock height, eliminating below-dock loading, preventing equipment damage, and improving turnaround time. Each pair is custom-sized for the facility; a short worksheet captures height, width, length, and capacity so the risers match the exact wheelbase and approach conditions.
Every wheel riser set is engineered to your dock’s footprint to ensure safe, repeatable alignment of trailers and forklifts.
Sizing Guidelines:
- 18 in. wide – single-tire wheels
- 24 in. wide – dual-tire wheels
- 30 in. top length – single axle
- 84 in. top length – tandem axle
Standard heights: 3 – 12 in. (split models available for sloped approaches)

Aluminum Wheel Risers
Model AWR
- 30,000 lb capacity per pair
- All-aluminum, corrosion-resistant construction
- Hand-lift cut-outs
- Optional bolt-on tabs
- Standard widths: 18 in. or 24 in.
- Standard Heights from 3” to 12”
- Split configurations for angled dock approaches

Steel Wheel Risers
Model SWR
- Heavy-duty steel for permanent installations
- 40,000 lb capacity per pair
- Mounting Tabs Standard
- Standard widths: 18 in. or 24 in.
- Standard Heights from 3” to 12”
- Split configurations for angled dock approaches

Truck Risers
Model TR
Safe Dock Height Positioning
Truck Risers eliminate dangerous vertical gaps between truck beds and dock floors, ensuring safe, efficient loading and unloading operations. These positioning systems prevent costly damage to dock equipment like boards, plates, and levelers while creating level transitions that protect both workers and equipment.
When trucks aren’t properly positioned at dock height, dock equipment damage and unsafe loading conditions become significant risks. Truck Risers provide a simple, cost-effective solution by raising vehicles to meet dock height requirements while establishing stable, level transitions.
Applications: Ideal for facilities requiring consistent truck positioning at loading docks, preventing below-dock loading conditions and ensuring optimal equipment performance across varying truck heights.
