Things to do
Georgetown

Surrounded by live oak lined streets, Downtown Historic Georgetown is the 3rd oldest city in the state and is filled with history, charm, and personality. It is a must-visit destination for waterfront shopping, dining, boating, fishing, historic tours, and ghost tours. It is also the perfect place for a destination wedding! If you are looking for fun things to do with the family, check out the events calendar and partake in our fun festivals, parades, and concerts. Also, remember to bring your camera to capture some of the best photographic opportunities in the South. You will be pleasantly surprised so don’t pass us by.
Charleston

Charleston, the South Carolina port city founded in 1670, is defined by its cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages, and pastel antebellum houses, particularly in the elegant French Quarter and Battery districts. The Battery promenade and Waterfront Park both overlook Charleston Harbor, while Fort Sumter, a federal stronghold where the first shots of the Civil War rang out, lies across the water.
Soaking in the ambiance of the brick-walked, Spanish-mossed downtown is Charleston’s to-do. Historic homes are also plentiful: The Nathaniel Russell House, Drayton Hall and Magnolia Plantation & Gardens are just a few examples. And if you want to pick up a few travel souvenirs – perhaps a sweetgrass basket – look no further than the Charleston City Market. There are even a few beaches in close proximity – Folly Beach and Isle of Palms, among others – ideal for warm-weather swimming and cold-weather strolling.
